Dune: Awakening is the latest entry in the survival gaming genre. Released on June 10, 2025, this game has attracted the attention of millions of players. During the early access, this game reached more than 93,000 concurrent players on Steam. After the global release, within a week, this game touched its highest peak of more than 189,000 concurrent players.

Despite this massive success, players have been complaining about some issues from the beginning. Some PvP issues, like faster respawn timers and others ruining the gameplay experience for gamers, have been the first post-launch update to fix them on June 18, 2025.

Dune: Awakening: Private Server Alerts and UI Enhancements

The first and the biggest highlight of this latest update includes more clarity, including Private Servers. After the update went live, players can now receive a pop-up notification when they click on the Private Servers in the Server Browser. This alert will inform them that these servers are managed by external providers to reduce confusion.

Aside from that, service message visibility also received a boost. Now, players will find the server restart alerts and other notices on the upper-central part of the screen. These changes are mostly aimed at offering players better gameplay and quicker reactions to maintenance and shutdowns.

PvP Respawn Changes and Gameplay Tweaks in Dune: Awakening

One of the most annoying bugs that players complained about the most is the respawn timer. Before this update, players used to respawn within 12 seconds. With this update, this timer has been increased to 70 seconds for the first time to prevent large teams from getting unnecessary advantages. The subsequent respawn times are stretched to 115 seconds. This will enhance the need for well-planned strategic decisions.

Other fixes that the Dune: Awakening Version 1.1.0.15 Patch Notes have brought are

  • Fixed an issue where the game client could freeze when the player attempted to cross the Deep Desert server border.

  • Fixed an issue where players who shared their base access with friends could not sometimes abandon their base via a map marker.

  • Fixed an issue that caused the dart trails from the Maula Pistol to sometimes deviate from the intended direction.

  • Fixed an issue that caused a possible crash when restoring a vehicle with the Vehicle Backup Tool.

  • Fixed an issue that made it possible to move Crysknifes into storage containers by swapping them with other items.

  • Fixed an issue that could cause the player to lose Solaris deposited in the bank.

  • Fixed an issue where service alert notifications would not show due to being blocked by other notifications.

  • Fixed an exploit where players could damage other players' bases with a cutteray.

  • Fixed an exploit where players could fire a salvo of projectiles.

Conclusion

Dune: Awakening’s latest update marks a step toward making the game more stable for gamers. With these fixes, the gameplay becomes more balanced for gamers. Whether it’s the renewed spawn timer or the bug fixes, Funcom proves they value fan feedback, which further becomes a plus point for the game. Players hate when developers don’t take complaints seriously. This rapid address of issues will increase the fanbase of Dune: Awakening.
