Apple’s iPhone 17 series might see a hike in prices. This news has created a buzz among iPhone enthusiasts, and consumers are on edge about this price surge. According to a report from MacRumors, the newest series of Apple phones might cost more because of Trump tariffs.

The speculations of Apple increasing the base storage on the Pro model to 256GB are yet another reason for the changed price tag of the iPhone 17.

How Trump Tariffs Can Influence iPhone 17 Prices?

The MacRumors report published by Jeff Pu from GF Securities says that the production costs of Apple iPhones might increase due to the imposition of new US tariffs on smartphones imported from India and China.

The cost is likely to increase by $50 to $100 compared to the previous models. Though imports from India are currently exempt from tariffs, the devices imported from China still carry 20% tariff charges. Despite these increments in the iPhone 17 prices, users are still curious about the exciting features Apple will introduce in its new lineup.

Will iPhone 17 Pro Have More Storage?

If the price of the iPhone 17 Pro version jumps, then it will be the first Pro model to undergo price fluctuations since the launch of iPhone X. In order to justify this price increase, Apple might increase the minimum storage of the iPhone 17 Pro model from 128GB to 256GB.

How Many iPhone 17 Models Will Be Launched?

The iPhone 17 series is set to launch on 9 September 2025 with four models in tow: iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max, and iPhone 17 Air/iPhone 17 Slim. The pre-order service for these smartphones will start from 12 September 2025, and their shipment will begin from 19 September 2025.

To sum up, Apple's Q3 earnings report disclosed revenue close to $94 billion, the majority of which comes from iPhone sales. Despite this high revenue, the company suffered $800 million in tariff charges, which are estimated to grow to $1.1 billion in the future. This hints at the renewed price tags for Apple products, not just in the US but all over the world.
