Google has rolled out a fashion and lifestyle shopping option within Google Pay in India. Consumers will be able to discover clothes, get suggestions that match their preferences, and see how they would look in them before making a purchase decision. The roll-out was announced by Google on November 2, 2026. This feature is currently available only to a limited number of users.
This feature is accessible through the Discover icon located at the bottom of the Google Pay app. It provides a personalized feed of clothing, fashion trends, lifestyle products, and associated YouTube videos.
It is built by Google using its Shopping Graph, which has more than 60 billion product listings. These product listings keep getting updated. Google uses this information along with visual search, virtual try-ons, and YouTube videos to recommend products that match a user's preferences.
Recommendations will depend on user activity across various Google services. However, this is done only if the user allows Google to do so. Users can also use a picture for their search. They can either take a picture or upload a picture of the outfit, and the app will show similar products online.
With virtual try-on, users can pick eligible items and see how they may look wearing them. Google says the tool also shows how the cloth fits and falls on the body.
In the coming weeks, Google plans to add daily outfit ideas. These will be made in advance, so users get fresh styling tips each day.
Google Pay will not handle the payment for these items. When a user picks a product to buy, the app sends them to the seller's website. They finish the purchase there and pay with the method they like best.
If you want to try it, update Google Pay and look for the Discover icon. Since this is a pilot, the feature may not show up on every account yet. Google has not shared a date for a wider launch. That step will likely depend on what early users say about the experience.
