Ethereum traded at USD 2,288.68 on Binance around 07:05 UTC on November 2, rising 0.85% over 24 hours. Yet the Ethereum price remained below several key moving averages, leaving its recovery uncertain. The cryptocurrency traded between USD 2,247.84 and USD 2,317.84 during the session. It held just above its USD 2,284.79 pivot, while resistance clustered above current levels. Traders now face a narrow range between nearby support and overhead barriers. The advance left obstacles in place.

Ethereum Price Holds Above Pivot but Faces Moving Averages

Ethereum stood just below its seven-day simple moving average of USD 2,289.79. Its 12-period exponential moving average reached USD 2,319.73, while the 20-day simple moving average stood at USD 2,362.49. The 26-period exponential average was higher at USD 2,387.36. Together, those levels left the short-term price structure tilted downward.

The 50-day moving average stood at USD 2,513.46, extending the resistance above spot prices. Still, Ethereum remained about USD 130 above its 200-day moving average of USD 2,158.70. That longer-term reference remained intact despite the weakness across shorter periods. The gap separated the current correction from a test of long-term support. Price had not yet reached that average.

Bollinger Band data offered another measure of that weakness. The lower band stood at USD 2,225.73, while the upper band reached USD 2,499.26. A reported %B reading of 0.2308 placed the price near the lower portion of that range. The 20-day mean at USD 2,362.49 remained an important recovery barrier. The reading also placed Ethereum below the Bollinger midpoint.

MACD and RSI Show Weak Momentum Without Reversal

Binance spot data showed the MACD and signal lines both at minus 67.6364. Their reported histogram stood at zero, meaning the gap between the two lines had closed. The reading did not establish a bullish reversal. Further positive histogram readings would offer stronger evidence of improving momentum. No such readings appeared in the supplied figures.

Meanwhile, the 14-period relative strength index reached 36.88. That level sat closer to the oversold threshold of 30 than the neutral midpoint of 50. The Stochastic oscillator showed its %K line at 32.56, above the %D line at 26.05. The crossover suggested a possible short-term lift but offered no confirmation.

The average true range stood at USD 77.66, placing several chart levels within one typical daily move. Immediate support rested at USD 2,251.73, followed by stronger support at USD 2,214.79. Resistance appeared at USD 2,321.73 and USD 2,354.79.

Futures Data Shows Mixed Positions as Key Tests Approach

Binance Futures open interest reached approximately 2.36 million contracts, with reported notional value of USD 5.31 billion. Open interest fell 0.99% over 24 hours, pointing to modest position reductions. The eight-hour funding rate stood at 0.0013%, indicating a small payment from long holders to short holders.

At 07:00 UTC, 69.9% of tracked Binance accounts held net long positions, compared with 30.1% net short. The top-trader group showed 66.2% long and 33.8% short. Those figures described specific exchange segments, not the entire market. Their respective long-to-short ratios were 2.3223 and 1.9586. Meanwhile, the one-hour taker buy/sell ratio of 1.0091 suggested nearly balanced order flow. Buyers took 39,286 contracts against 38,933 sold.

A stronger recovery would require a move above USD 2,321.73, followed by USD 2,354.79. A sustained daily close above USD 2,362.49 would then improve the moving-average picture. Conversely, a break below USD 2,251.73 could expose USD 2,214.79 and eventually the 200-day average at USD 2,158.70.

A pivot-hold long scenario used USD 2,288.68 as entry, USD 2,251.73 as stop, and USD 2,354.79 as target. Its estimated reward-to-risk ratio was 1.79:1 before costs. Binance spot volume totaled approximately USD 348.9 million over 24 hours, although liquidity did not eliminate the risk of rapid price moves.

Conclusion

Ethereum traded above its session pivot but remained below every cited short- and medium-term moving average. Momentum indicators showed a pause rather than a confirmed reversal. The next direction depends on whether ETH clears USD 2,321.73 and USD 2,354.79 or loses support at USD 2,251.73.
