Xbox players may soon have to say goodbye to two licensed games. A fresh report claims that Funko Fusion and Star Trek: Legends could be removed from the Xbox Store. Microsoft has not made an official announcement yet, but the rumor has already caught the attention of many fans.
This is not the first time a licensed game has faced this kind of situation. Games based on movies, TV shows, or famous brands sometimes disappear from online stores when business deals end. Once that happens, new players can no longer buy them.
Licensed games are among the most stable business formats in the industry. Gaming studios often collaborate with a popular movie or anime franchise to turn a massively popular title into a game. However, very few receive groundbreaking success like Hogwarts Legacy or the LEGO Star Wars series. For the rest, the future often holds a delisting from platforms.
According to the report, Funko Fusion is currently available on the Xbox Store at a steep 95% discount, prompting speculation that the game will likely be removed from the platform. On the contrary, Star Trek: Legends has already been delisted on the PlayStation Store and Switch eShop, leading to the belief that Xbox will take a similar step.
If the report turns out to be true, Funko Fusion and Star Trek: Legends will no longer be available for new buyers on the Xbox Store. This does not mean the games are shutting down. It simply means they cannot be purchased digitally after they are removed.
Players who already own either game should not panic. In most cases, games that have already been purchased stay in your Xbox library. You can usually download them again whenever you need.
DLC may be different. Some extra content remains available, while some may also disappear from the store. Online features can continue as long as the game servers remain active. If those servers close later, multiplayer modes may stop working.
If a game has a physical edition, that copy can still be played and even shared or sold. This is one reason many players still like buying games on disc.

If you already wanted to play Funko Fusion or Star Trek: Legends, buying them before a possible delisting is not a bad idea. Waiting could mean missing the chance to own them digitally.
At the same time, there is no need to rush now just based on a rumor. Buy the game because you want to play it, not because you think it might become rare. Delisted games often become harder to find, but they do not always become valuable.
The bigger lesson is simple - digital stores make buying games easy, but they also remind us that not every game stays on sale forever.
