Samsung is one of the leading mobile developers that launches a slew of exciting new models every year. Currently, while Samsung users are excited about the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and the Galaxy Z Flip 7, reports indicate the company has been working on a new foldable smartphone tentatively named the Galaxy G Fold.
No official news has yet surfaced about this model, but speculatively, this model will feature a 9.96-inch double-folding display with 2K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The best part is that rumors say that this device will probably debut with the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Samsung Galaxy Z Flip this July.
The next generation of foldable devices is on the way. Though the Galaxy G Fold hasn’t yet been formally declared, a South Korean publication has notified, citing various sources, that this upcoming device will introduce a unique tri-fold design, which will differ from the existing foldable models. The comparison is not among the Samsung models only, but all the existing models.
Recently, Huawei's Mate XT Ultimate Edition has shown its upcoming S-shape folding mechanism, but as rumors suggest, Samsung has been approaching an entirely different folding mechanism and is expected to bring a G-shape fold in its Galaxy G Fold model. The benefit of this G-shape folding mechanism is that all three folds will go inward, ensuring the screen remains protected when the device is closed.
In this case, an outer display is necessary for activities and notifications when the device is closed. Once again, rumors come to resolve this issue and hint at Samsung bringing the Galaxy G Fold with a 6.49-inch outer screen.
However, the most attractive feature of the Galaxy G Fold is its 2K resolution, which will ensure that users will have a clearer visual with a 120Hz refresh rate that promises smooth scrolling and an enhanced gaming experience.
Despite no concrete news of the Galaxy G Fold coming this year with the two other foldable models, rumors have covered almost all the aspects. Reportedly, Samsung is about to start the parts procurement for the Galaxy G Fold in April 2025. This completely aligns with the claim that this model will debut with the two other foldable devices during mid-July.
Further, reports revealed that Samsung has taken a cautious approach to the production, and the initial production will be around 200,000 units. This will allow the company to understand customer interest and market responses before it finally starts mass production, allowing Samsung to gauge consumer interest and market response before committing to mass production.
The development of the Galaxy G Fold is directly competing with Huawei's Mate XT Ultimate Edition, which will come sometime during Q1. Also, it once again showcases the dedication of the company to bring innovative folding models to the smartphone market. Also, the market approach strategy highlights that Samsung is careful about the consumer reception of its models.
