Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6) is back in the spotlight with a concerning update from a reliable leaker known for their accurate gaming insights. The latest news raises potential red flags about the game's development, leaving fans eagerly awaiting Rockstar Games' next big title with growing uncertainty.

Tez2 Reveals Rockstar’s Internal Timeline Issues

Following a revelation by renowned leaker 'Tez2,' who has in the past correctly predicted numerous details concerning Rockstar and its internal workings, GTA 6 allegedly falls behind schedule for an intended 2025 release. Tez2 claims that the internal deadlines are starting to become inconsistent, while Rockstar developers are facing increased pressure to meet set milestones.

Despite the mounting pressure, the official release window remains unchanged. However, the leaker warns that if critical development milestones aren’t met by the end of 2025, a delay announcement could be inevitable.

“Rockstar is aiming for a Q1 2025 release,” Tez2 wrote on gaming forums. Tez2 continued, “But internally, there's concern about whether that date can realistically be met. Some parts of the game are still in a pre-polish state, and any major setbacks in the next few months could push the release into late 2025 or even early 2026.”

Critics Warn Office Shift May Hinder Progress

Adding to those concerns about development is Rockstar’s decision to bring employees back to the office full time. Early this year, it stopped remote working options, citing stronger coordination needed for the projects and better data security.

Some in the industry may regard this move as one to streamline the development, though inside sources report that the sudden change has created a division among staff, with morale being lowered and worries about work-life balance being raised.

The short-term productivity of the teams may have been impaired by this mandatory return-to-the-office setup, as they are still in the process of adjusting to exchanging ideas in person. From the critic's perspective, a disruption in the rhythm of remote work could be problematic.

Nearly three years of working remotely have established a certain cadence, and altering it might cause issues. This disruption could potentially harm a high-stakes development environment like GTA 6.

Lucia, Jason Teased, But Gameplay Still Hidden

Any talk of further delay is disheartening to a fan base that has been waiting since the release of GTA V in 2013. Rockstar kept all the hype for GTA 6 flying high when it dropped its first official trailer in December 2023, confirming the game's setting in Vice City and also unveiling its dual protagonists, Lucia and Jason.

The trailer, a visual extravaganza, enjoyed universal acclaim, yet Rockstar has been holding tight to its precious gameplay footage and details on mechanics, making fans hungry for updates and fearing that silence might be a sign of trouble.

Rockstar Stays Quiet While Concerns Keep Rising

Currently, Rockstar Games has declined to comment on the leaked concerns from development. The company maintains the 2025 release target and has never been one to hold a gun to its own head by asserting readiness at certain precise deadlines.

If anything, the questionable silence from Rockstar lately is embracing product debate across various internet forums. For now, players can only watch and wait and see if GTA 6 stays on track or will join a growing list of high-profile titles suffering ill-timed delays.
