Google has unveiled Googlebook, an AI-first laptop powered by Gemini AI. The tech giant introduced the device during its Android Show I/O Edition 2026. The launch marks Google’s strongest push into AI-native personal computing.

GoogleBook combines Android experiences, cloud computing, and Gemini AI technologies into a unified laptop platform. The device allows users to automate tasks based on contextual understanding. It can also create customized workflows.

Google Introduces Googlebook: What’s Inside

The laptop uses AI to assist users directly from the desktop environment while supporting functions across browser apps and chatbots.

The system offers a feature called ‘Magic Pointer’, which enables users to select text, images, dates, and files to activate Gemini actions through selected items. Users can create calendar events, summarize documents, compare visuals, or generate content with a single interaction.

Google also introduced ‘Create My Widget,’ which enables users to create custom widgets using simple natural language commands. Googlebook’s interface strongly emphasizes Android device compatibility. Users can stream Android apps directly from their smartphones without downloading them separately on the laptop.

Googlebook Launch Plans: An Overview

The Googlebook interface automatically displays photos, documents, and recently accessed files from Android mobile devices. The Google ecosystem enables users to work without switching between applications.

Google introduced its new design element, called ‘Glowbar,’ but only disclosed minimal information about it. Several major PC brands, including Acer, Asus, Dell, HP, and Lenovo, are expected to launch Googlebook devices later this year.

The first Googlebook laptops will launch in fall 2026. Google is yet to reveal pricing or hardware specifications. The launch comes as technology companies race to embed generative AI deeply into consumer devices.
