German robotics software company Sereact has secured $110 million in a Series B funding round. The company said the capital will support the development of its latest AI model, Cortex 2.0, and expansion into the United States market.

The Stuttgart-based firm builds AI systems for industrial robots used in manufacturing and logistics. It currently works with more than 100 live robotic deployments across Europe and the United States. Investors said the funding reflects growing interest in robotics software that can handle complex physical tasks in real environments.

Sereact Funding Round and US Expansion Plans

The Series B round was led by Headline, a venture capital firm based in San Francisco and Berlin. Other new investors include Bullhound Capital, Felix Capital, and Daphni. Existing investors such as Creandum, Air Street Capital, and Point Nine also took part.

The company has now raised more than $140 million since its founding in 2021. Sereact employs around 100 people and focuses on building software that runs across different robot types.

In addition, the company said part of the funding will support its expansion in the United States. It plans to open a new office in Boston and hire staff in engineering and commercial roles. The expansion aims to strengthen its presence in industrial markets in North America, where demand for automation tools continues to grow.

Cortex 2.0 and Robotics Development Progress

Sereact announced that the funding will mainly support the development of Cortex 2.0, its newest AI model. The system is designed as a vision-language-action model that allows robots to simulate different outcomes before selecting an action. The model aims to improve decision-making in physical tasks such as assembly, sorting, and placement operations.

CEO Ralf Gulde stated, “It takes Cortex out of the picking bin and into work where contact matters.” He added, “We don’t build robots. We ship one thing: the model that runs on any robot.”

The system is trained using real-world data from industrial deployments rather than only simulated environments. The company said this helps improve accuracy in unpredictable conditions found in warehouses and factories.

Sereact Customers and Robotics Industry Outlook

Sereact’s systems are currently used in operations linked to companies such as BMW, Daimler Truck, Bol, and Active Ants. The company also reported ongoing discussions with H&M for retail and logistics applications. A key use case includes handling returned goods, where robots assist in sorting and assessing items before restocking or processing.

The robotics sector has seen rising investment activity in recent years. Data from PitchBook showed global funding in robotics reached about $27.6 billion in 2025.

Other companies in the field such as Neura Robotics, are also raising large funding rounds to expand development efforts. Sereact said its approach focuses on creating a shared AI system that can operate across multiple robot types, including single-arm, dual-arm, and mobile units.
