Apple plans to develop a futuristic ‘Spatial iPhone’ featuring holographic visuals that do not require special glasses. According to the latest reports,  the tech giant is testing advanced display technology from Samsung. Apple wants to bring Vision Pro-style immersive experiences and deeper spatial computing features to future iPhones.

 Apple Explores ‘Spatial iPhone’ Technology

According to reports, Samsung is developing a next-generation holographic panel that could power Apple’s spatial smartphone ambitions. The technology reportedly combines eye-tracking and beam-steering systems to create floating 3D visuals visible to the naked eye. Reports also suggest Samsung may add a nano-structured holographic layer directly into the AMOLED display.

Users can experience 3D displays without additional hardware. The screen could change visual content based on eye movement. The technology may allow users to engage with applications, media, and AI content in a more immersive manner. Leaks suggest the spatial iPhone may support the following features:

  • Spatial AI interfaces

  • Improved spatial photography and video features

  • Immersive gaming and video playback

  • Glasses-free 3D visuals

  • Floating app effects

  • Advanced eye tracking

The Future Roadmap Ahead

Apple has already introduced spatial video recording on newer iPhones and integrated spatial computing features in Vision Pro. The reported spatial iPhone is expected to serve as the next step in Apple’s mixed-reality development plan.

The holographic layer is likely to activate only when needed. Users can access regular apps and content in full 4K resolution. Technical experts described this as ‘Zero Clarity Loss.’

Reports indicate that the holographic technology currently remains in the experimental stage. Leaks suggest that the commercial launch may occur by 2030. Apple has not officially confirmed the project. The reports demonstrate how major tech companies are currently competing to develop new smartphone designs using AI, augmented reality, and immersive display technology.
