Will 2022 Become the Year of AI Regulations? Maybe Yes!

Owing to the increasing use of tech, AI regulations will gain more focus from regulators this year

Modern businesses are embracing growth and transformation with the emergence of artificial intelligence in almost all operations. Starting from supply chain management to the final production of the material, AI ensures that businesses can efficiently produce the best quality products and generate as much revenue as possible. The tech-savvy generation of 2022 from renowned universities, with healthy levels of entrepreneurship in them, are innovating avant-garde products. Vibrant AI ecosystems in the global ecosystems have led regulators to anticipate the future of artificial intelligence, pushing them towards formulating strict AI regulations. Humans might become friends with an AI machine in recent times, but the future implications of such friendships are still unknown to us.

AI regulations form a major part of tech industries right now. In the last five years, the adoption of AI has skyrocketed as more than 25% of businesses have already or are planning to adopt AI in the future. AI already has a myriad of applications for both consumers and businesses, and those benefits and exponentially wide-ranging. Hence, the impotence of AI regulations remains uncompromisable. But with the growing number of advancements, regulators are unable to keep track of the types and numbers of AI systems. Governments around the world are trying their best to stay abreast of these developments and make sure that the existing laws and regulations stay relevant as new challenges arise.

Will 2022 be the year of AI regulations?

Regulations pertaining to AI innovations have lagged for all these years. But it appears that finally, it is catching to the emerging technologies including machine learning, deep learning, and neural networks. Tech giants predict that the year 2022 will witness several AI regulations more systematically, with several proposals likely to be enforced based on facial recognition in public spaces, social scoring, and subliminal techniques.

It is predicted the year 2022 will be more powerful than it was five years ago. And this is vastly due to the faster-specialized processors, better software, and larger data sets.
