2025 is still in its infancy, but already the private 5G landscape has undergone a significant change. This is one of the rapidly growing sectors where big names often join hands with each other to enhance their network and service. So, here are the top private 5G deals of the year that one should track to know the future of the sector:

1. Telstra's $800 Million Network Upgrade

Let’s start the list with Australia's leading telecommunications company, Telstra. This company has recently announced an $800 million investment for the upgradation of its network in the next four years. This initiative is mainly aimed at boosting Telstra’s 5G services and improving network reliability to suit the increased demands for AI applications. The recent announcement has revealed that the company has partnered with Ericsson to work on this agenda and ensure network excellence and resilience.

2. Vodafone and Three UK's £18 Billion Merger

Vodafone UK and Three UK’s latest deal is probably one of the biggest ones to check out this year. In a surprising move, these two companies received approval from the Competition and Markets Authority to merge, forming the UK's largest mobile network operator. The amount is immensely hefty, and this £18 billion deal has promised to enhance 5G network coverage and services across the UK. According to the deal, this combined entity promised to invest £11 billion in 5G infrastructure over the next eight years. So, this is one of the remarkable deals that happened this year.

3. Optus and TPG's $1.6 Billion Network-Sharing Agreement

The next deal that deserves to be part of this private 5G deal piece is the Optus and TPG Telecom deal where these two companies have entered into a $1.6 billion network-sharing deal that is aimed at enhancing mobile coverage and competition in regional Australia.

This is an 11-year agreement, where the TPG will significantly expand its network coverage and access 98.4% of the Australian population with its high-speed internet service. This collaboration is a challenge for Telstra, and if it works properly, it will probably reduce its regional dominance.

4. Amper's Investment in Intelectia Telecom

Amper is one of the most promising technology companies that has invested €300,000 in the Spanish startup Intelectia Telecom. This deal is a unique one for its aim to specialize in secure communications and private 5G networks. This investment is not like usual partnerships, but here Amper has given the startup company the money as a convertible loan, and in return, it received approximately a 10% stake in Intelectia Telecom. This has removed geological barriers of Intelectia Telecom and let it access vast regions to secure the communications.

5. L&T Technology Services and BSNL's Private 5G Deployment

The next private 5G technology deal that must be on the list is the L&T Technology Services’ deal with Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited, popularly known as BSNL. These two companies have joined hands to make the private 5G networks accessible for enterprise customers. The deal says that BSNL will provide spectrum using both public land mobile networks, while LTTS will handle the deployment of equipment, applications, servers, technology, and software.

6. Wipro and Cisco's Global Private 5G Service

In 2025, a lot of private 5G deals have already taken place, and one of the most remarkable among them is the Wipro Technologies and Cisco Systems’ deal, where these two companies have partnered to deliver private 5G to enterprise customers worldwide.

The next 5G private deal that has attracted the attention of tech enthusiasts is Bharti Airtel’s collaboration with Tech Mahindra to secure a contract that is aimed at bringing a private 5G network to Mahindra & Mahindra's Chakan manufacturing facility in Maharashtra.

If this deployment successfully happens, it will be India’s first 5G-enabled auto manufacturing unit. In this deal, both partners have fixed roles: Airtel will provide the spectrum and network infrastructure, and Tech Mahindra will offer technology and software solutions.

8. Samsung's Private 5G Agreements in South Korea

This deal is a government 5G private deal that Samsung has signed with South Korean government agencies. As per the report, this deal has been done between Samsung Electronics three South Korean government agencies, and two private institutions in sectors such as energy, safety, healthcare, etc. Based on this deal, these parties have agreed that Samsung will utilize the 4.7GHz and 28GHz frequency bands designated for private 5G networks to provide its advanced private 5G network solutions to enhance operational efficiency and safety across these sectors.

9. Tata Communications' Engagement in Private 5G Networks

Tata Communications has always been one of the leading companies in the private 5G sector. Therefore, some deals from this company are expected. The current reports reveal that TCS has engaged in discussions with approximately 40 large enterprises across various sectors to provide private 5G network solutions. These are companies from different industries like metal and mining, sports venues, etc.

10. Cisco and NEC's Collaboration on Private 5G in EMEA

So, the Cisco Systems and NEC Corporation’s deal is the final one on this list that has attracted significant attention from tech enthusiasts. This deal has announced a partnership between these two well-known companies to deliver private 5G networks across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. The deal is mainly going to utilize Cisco’s 5G core with NEC’s system integration to provide end-to-end 5G solutions to organizations in these above-mentioned regions.

These are most of the remarkable deals that were signed this year to give the private 5G network momentum. If some of these work successfully, it will be a lot easier for organizations and individuals to access private 5G networks in the future.
