Google has taken a step forward in customization by rolling out a new feature called Search Profiles. This update is aimed at creators and publishers who want more control over how they will appear in search results. It offers eligible users the chance to get a dedicated profile page that will include their popular videos and posts from other social media platforms.
During the announcement on June 4, the tech giant described the new feature as ‘dedicated, shareable space to highlight content across platforms, and help audiences find accurate, up-to-date information about sources on Search.’
The feature is like a creator's digital introduction card, but the person has to meet the criteria. The qualification criteria include 100,000 followers on YouTube, Instagram or X (formerly Twitter). Otherwise, they need 300,000 TikTok followers.
Those who meet the criteria must visit profile.google.com/claim and sign in with any Google account they want to link to their creator account. Now they have to sign in to all their accounts, but YouTube accounts should be prioritized. Once these are done, click ‘Create Profile’ to customize how their profile will appear in Google Search.

The update might be part of a larger change in how people manage their digital reputation. Rather than letting search results explain everything on their own, creators now have a tool that helps them show up directly.
As the internet keeps getting more crowded, first impressions feel more important than ever. Search Profiles could become a real stepping stone for creators to build trust and maintain an uncluttered online identity.
