Shiba Inu (SHIB) vs Dogecoin (DOGE)? Try Floki (FLOKI) Instead!

Shiba Inu (SHIB) and Dogecoin (DOGE) are two of the most popular cryptocurrencies in the world – even more popular than Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) in some parts of the world – due to one key reason: they are memecoins.

Like it or not, memecoins like Shiba Inu and Dogecoin appeal to retail and have resulted in more average users taking an interest in crypto than major cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum.

A recent article published by Bitcoin News revealed that Shiba Inu (SHIB) is the most popular cryptocurrency in the UK while another report published by Finbold revealed that Dogecoin (DOGE) is the most searched cryptocurrency in the US.

While both Dogecoin and Shiba Inu have massive mainstream popularity, Floki (FLOKI) is a rapidly growing memecoin with stronger potential due to its utility focus – especially with the mainnet launch of its FlokiFi Locker protocol this month being a major catalyst.

Dogecoin History: How the King of Memecoins Started

Dogecoin was created by software engineers Billy Markus and Jackson Palmer who created the first meme cryptocurrency to make fun of the concept of cryptocurrencies in general. Little did they know that what they set up as a joke will take up a life of its own and become something used by millions of people.

Eccentric Tesla and Space billionaire founder Elon Musk was one of the people who really liked the concept of Dogecoin and publicly threw his weight behind it. Elon's consistent tweets about Dogecoin and his public obsession with the memecoin would eventually help it become mainstream and spur the creation of other memecoins.

The two most notable memecoins that would be inspired by Dogecoin and Elon Musk are Shiba Inu (SHIB) and Floki (FLOKI).

Shiba Inu History: How Shiba Inu Started

Inspired by the success of Dogecoin, Shiba Inu was created by an anonymous developer named Ryoshi in August 2020.

The Dogecoin copycat would eventually become a force of its own, inspiring an impressive community of millions of people from all over the world. Shiba Inu became so big that it flipped Dogecoin, the original memecoin, in October 2021.

Floki is another memecoin that is worth paying attention to, however, because it has stronger potential than both Dogecoin and Shiba Inu.

Why Floki Inu (FLOKI) is Better than Dogecoin (DOGE) and Shiba Inu (SHIB): History, Fundamentals, and Catalysts

Like Shiba Inu and Dogecoin, Floki is a memecoin inspired by Elon Musk. It also has a massive community of cult-like believers who call themselves the "Floki Vikings" on Twitter.

Unlike Dogecoin and Shiba Inu, however, Floki has much stronger fundamentals – and this makes it a better memecoin than both cryptocurrencies and gives it better potential.

Floki is building a Play2Earn NFT metaverse game named Valhalla. The alpha version of this game is live and playable on testnet already, and it's only had raving reviews.

Besides its impressive metaverse game, Floki is building an innovative crypto locker protocol that has had some of the biggest DeFi protocols announce their intent to use it. This locker protocol, named FlokiFi Locker, is due to go live on mainnet this month and could be a major catalyst for the popular cryptocurrency.
