Vivo is set to launch its next-gen foldable smartphone in China on June 26. Ahead of the official launch, a fresh leak claims that the upcoming foldable Vivo model will feature a powerful processor, a long-lasting battery, and expanded storage options.
Vivo hasn’t officially confirmed any of these yet, leaving users unsure whether the company is planning a major upgrade to its current foldable lineup. The smartphone is expected to launch first in China before reaching other markets.
A tipster recently shared some information on Weibo about the Vivo X Fold 6. According to leaks, the upcoming Vivo foldable will be powered by MediaTek's Dimensity 9500 chipset. Additionally, it will offer 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage to the top-tier model of the lineup.
That’s not the end; the leak further suggests that the models will pack a 7,000mAh battery. The interesting part is that a Vivo executive has recently confirmed that the upcoming X Fold 6 lineup will feature a battery larger than 6,000mAh. Thus, the leak seems authentic.
If the leak proves true, Vivo is going to make history with a foldable device featuring a much larger battery than other foldable models. Additionally, users can expect fast charging.
The starting price is rumored to be around CNY 9,999 (nearly Rs. 1,40,000) for the base variant featuring 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The higher variant (12GB + 512GB RAM) will reach somewhere near CNY 10,999 (nearly Rs. 1,54,000)

Even though Samsung has not fully revealed the Galaxy Z Fold 8, early comparisons have already started. The leaked Vivo X Fold 6 appears stronger in one area: battery size. A 7,000mAh battery would be much larger than what Samsung has offered on its recent foldable phones.
Vivo may also have an advantage in memory and storage. The rumored 24GB RAM option is higher than what most flagship phones currently provide.
Samsung, however, still has strengths of its own. The company offers longer software support, a large user base, and a strong ecosystem that connects phones, tablets, watches, and laptops. Both devices are expected to target premium buyers, but Vivo seems focused on pushing hardware limits.
Foldable phones have become one of the most competitive parts of the smartphone market. Companies like Oppo, Honor, Huawei, and Vivo are introducing bigger batteries, lighter designs, and stronger camera systems.
Though Samsung still leads the global foldable market, Chinese brands continue to close the gap. Many of them are moving faster on hardware upgrades.
If the latest leak proves true, the Vivo X Fold 6 could be another example of that trend. The competition is no longer only about folding screens. It is now about better battery life, better performance, and a better daily experience.
