JioHotstar has announced a major revision in its subscription pricing. The streaming giant has raised prices across its Super and Premium subscription tiers and introduced monthly plans across all categories. The new structure will take effect on January 28, 2026.

JioHotstar Subscription Renewed

The changes mainly impact Super and Premium users. There is no price hike for quarterly or annual mobile plans. JioHotstar has also introduced monthly plans across all tiers to give users more flexibility.

Sushant Sreeram, Head of SVOD Business and Chief Marketing Officer at JioStar, said, “As we continue building India’s most expansive and inclusive entertainment ecosystem it’s important that our subscription choices keep pace with how audience want to watch. This update brings greater flexibility and choice across subscription needs, while supporting long-term investments in Premium storytelling, the best of live-sports, and a high-quality streaming experience at scale for our audiences.”

JioHotstar Subscription Price: Old vs New

Under the revised structure, the Premium annual subscription will rise from Rs 1,499 to Rs 2,199, while the Super annual plan will increase from Rs 899 to Rs 1,099. Quarterly prices for both tiers have also been raised.

Premium’s quarterly pack will now cost Rs 699 instead of Rs 499, and Super’s quarterly plan will go up from Rs 299 to Rs 349.

New JioHotstar Plans

JioHotstar has introduced monthly plans across all categories. Mobile users can now start at Rs 79 per month, making it easier for first-time or short-term users to access content.

The Super monthly plan is priced at Rs 149, while the Premium monthly plan costs Rs 299.

Will Mobile Plans Feature Hollywood Content?

Hollywood content will now be included only in Super and Premium plans for new users. Mobile subscribers who want access to Hollywood titles will need to buy a separate paid add-on.

Final Thoughts

The company stated that the change in pricing reflects a shift in how people consume content. According to a recent survey, more households are moving to connected TVs and multi-device viewing. Keeping this in mind, JioHotstar states that large-screen consumption has grown sharply over the past year. It has led to aligning prices with home-based streaming habits.

The platform has crossed one billion downloads on Google Play and serves over 450 million monthly active users across India. JioHotstar clarified that existing subscribers will continue at their current prices as long as auto-renewal is active.
