Pi Network’s Core Team published the long-awaited Pi Hackathon 2025 winners in early December 2025. It came about two months after the hackathon ended on October 15, 2025, during the Open Network era.
The Core Team launched the developer competition on August 21 and aimed it at new Mainnet utility apps. Organizers also ran an optional midpoint check-in in mid-September. The rules required submissions to meet Mainnet ecosystem standards before review.
The Core Team called it the first Open Network hackathon and cited external connectivity. It said the event aimed to expand Pi's utility through apps. It also encouraged teams to ship production-ready services on Pi Mainnet.
Blind_Lounge took first place as a privacy-first social and dating platform for Pi Network users. It supports anonymous chat and matching, and then identity is revealed by mutual choice. The app limits profiles to KYC-verified Pioneers and charges a small Pi fee to reduce spam.
Starmax earned second place with a Pi loyalty program focused on retail use. Pioneers can spend Pi at participating businesses and collect rewards for engagement. Merchants can build and adjust loyalty offers inside the app, which supports repeat visits and discovery.
RUN FOR PI secured third place as a runner game that ties Pi to its in-game economy. Players can use Pi for boosters, level access, and prize pools. The game also uses leaderboards that connect competition to Pi-based actions.
The prize structure awarded 75,000 PI tokens for first place, 45,000 PI for second, and 15,000 PI for third. Five additional projects received honorable mentions and 5,000 PI tokens each. The list included Kindrek, Workflet for Pi, PallyPay, SimpleJoy, and Agora Pulse.
Kindrek positioned itself as a matchmaking and social app that supports several connection types. Workflet for Pi presented a collaboration platform built around role-based workspaces for teams. PallyPay focused on group payments and bill splitting for shared activities. SimpleJoy offered a library of browser games, while Agora Pulse centered on community polling and voting.
The Core Team reported more than 215 Mainnet app submissions from August through October that met ecosystem requirements. It directed users to browse entries under the hackathon2025 tab. Users can find it in Pi Browser’s Mainnet Ecosystem Interface. The team also stated that these community apps can change after the contest.
The announcement included a risk notice for third-party Pi Network applications. It said app teams control features, limits, and updates. It also warned that users may encounter bugs, incomplete functions, or other constraints.
Pi Network also stated it does not officially develop the listed apps and has no affiliation with them. It urged users to act at their own discretion and accept related risks. It advised users to submit feedback or issue reports through each app’s channels or relevant community spaces.
