Apple’s much-anticipated iPhone 17 Pro could cost more in India. New leaks suggest a higher starting price, but buyers may also get more storage and new features.
According to the Leaks doing the rounds, iPhone 17 Pro may come with a hefty price tag in India with packed features. Tipster Instant Digital has claimed Apple will raise the US base price by $50 while increasing storage to 256 GB. This shift will surely change the value equation in Apple’s favour.
In the US, the base iPhone 17 Pro price could land at $1,049, a notable increase from last year's $999 for the 128 GB model. In India, it likely translates to a starting price between Rs. 1,21,900 and Rs. 1,45,000, depending on duties and supply chain variation. Some reports even put the 256 GB model at Rs. 1,45,990, while the Pro Max may climb to about Rs. 1,64,990.
Apple is aiming for a September launch, likely on September 9 or 10, with pre-orders starting soon after and sales beginning mid-to late-September. The schedule aligns with Apple’s typical release cycle.
iPhone 17 Pro brings more than higher prices. It will debut a redesigned camera layout featuring a full-width horizontal bar. Expect the jump to 256 GB base storage, powered by the new A19 Pro chip for top-tier performance.
Other upgrades include a 24 MP front camera, a 48 MP telephoto lens with enhanced zoom, and an anti-glare, scratch-resistant 120 Hz ProMotion display. Apple also swaps titanium for aluminum in the body, maintains 6.3-inch and 6.9-inch sizes for Pro and Pro Max, and adds color options such as orange, dark blue, silver, and black.
iPhone 17 Air, a rumored ultra-thin variant, may break Apple’s slimness record at just 5.5–6 mm thick, replacing the Plus model and appealing to minimalism enthusiasts.
Premium buyers may accept the price increase in India for the doubled storage value. However, the upgraded features promise significant improvements in performance, camera quality, power efficiency, and display, which may balance the impact of the higher price.
