India’s indigenous messaging platform Arattai has recently launched a new polls feature. It allows users to vote directly within group chats, making conversations more organized and efficient.

Using this functionality, a member can ask a question and post several options for group members to vote on with a single tap. The results are immediate, and the clutter is reduced.

Why are Polls Important to Group Chat?

Text group chats tend to descend into chaos when people are trying to converse at the same time. Polls can streamline this mess by allowing a quick consensus instead of users sorting through answers one by one.

This useful extension can now enhance the overall experience of group chats, simplifying the user interface for quicker decision-making.

Are More Features on the Way?

The Arattai polls feature is just the beginning, according to Sridhar Vembu, the co-founder of Zoho. Bigger changes are set to roll out in January, although no details are available just yet.

For now, the focus is on improving the app experience without needing aggressive marketing. The company wants this app to function perfectly before encouraging more users to adopt it.

What’s Arattai Doing in Messaging Space in India?

Arattai was launched as a domestic alternative to global messaging apps. It has already introduced essential features such as SMS, voice, and video calling. Like many indigenous apps, the software faces stiff competition from established players, but regular feature updates suggest steady progress.

Although there are still some grounds to cover, the company is making efforts to develop a trustworthy messaging service.

What’s Happening on WhatsApp Meanwhile?

WhatsApp is also testing a new feature for its ‘channels’ aspect. According to a WABetaInfo report, the app is further testing the ‘Channel Quiz’ feature, offering the possibility for administrators to share quiz-type questions with multiple-choice answers.

Users can choose an option and immediately determine if it is correct. A feature that was previously available only to a few accounts will now be available for testing in the beta version on Android and iOS devices.

Together, these updates show how messaging platforms are increasingly adding interactive tools to keep conversations engaging and efficient.
