The India AI Impact Summit 2026 began with a massive announcement in New Delhi. At Bharat Mandapam, Prime Minister Narendra Modi introduced a new artificial intelligence system, ‘Inya VoiceOS,’ built by a Bengaluru-based startup, Gnani.ai.

The launch highlights the strong progress made under the IndiaAI Mission and the country’s growing focus on artificial intelligence.

A New Era for Voice-to-Voice AI

Inya VoiceOS is India’s first 5-billion-parameter voice-to-voice AI model. Most voice systems change speech into text first and then convert text back into speech. Inya VoiceOS works differently by understanding and responding directly to speech. The conversations sound more natural while ensuring a clear tone and emotion.

Gnani.ai trained the model using more than 14 million hours of multilingual speech data. The team fine-tuned it with over 1.2 million hours of task-based audio. Training also included trillions of text tokens. The company built and deployed the system in India.

Built in India with Advanced Capabilities

Inya VoiceOS supports more than 15 Indian languages. It handles mixed language speech, understands different accents, and even manages interruptions during conversations. The system replies in less than a second and produces a 24 kHz clear and natural audio.

At the India AI Impact Summit 2026, live demos showed how the voice-to-voice AI model works in real situations. The AI tool focuses on practical utility. It can power multilingual call centers, assist workers on factory floors, and perform many similar tasks.

Practical Uses Across Sectors

The model can support government helplines and emergency services. It can improve grievance systems. In the private sector, banking, insurance, healthcare, and logistics companies can use it for hands-free voice services.

Gnani.ai released the 5B version as a research preview. A larger 14-billion-parameter version is already under development. This initiative shows long-term plans for advanced AI systems.

The India AI Impact Summit 2026 is scheduled to run from February 16 to February 20. The main summit sessions will take place on February 19 and February 20. The event advances India’s goal of leading AI innovation.

With Inya VoiceOS, Gnani.ai has taken a major step forward. The voice-to-voice AI model reflects India’s focus on local data and talent and on strong digital growth under the IndiaAI Mission.
