The India AI Summit 2026 begins today in New Delhi with a strong emphasis on digital leadership. Alongside AI innovation, India showcases the power of seamless digital payments by introducing UPI One World for global visitors.

The National Payments Corporation of India has launched the UPI One World wallet for foreign delegates attending the summit. This special wallet allows international visitors to make digital payments across India without needing an Indian bank account or a local mobile number.

Summit Venue and Pilot Launch

The summit is taking place at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi from February 16 to February 20. The service will be available during this period as a pilot project. Delegates can activate the wallet at Indira Gandhi International Airport or at the NPCI Pavilion inside the summit venue.

The process is simple. Delegates must download Transcorp’s CheqUPI app. They need to enter their passport and visa details for KYC verification. A live selfie confirms identity. The app then creates a UPI ID and allows the user to set a UPI PIN. The wallet is ready for use within minutes.

How the UPI One World Wallet Works

Delegates can add money using international debit or credit cards. The wallet allows payments by scanning regular UPI QR codes. It supports person-to-merchant digital payments. This means visitors can pay at hotels, restaurants, transport services, and shops easily.

There are clear safety limits: users can load up to Rs. 25,000 per transaction. They can top up twice a month. The total monthly limit is Rs. 50,000. If the money remains unused, it is refunded to the original card in accordance with foreign exchange rules.

India Showcases Digital Public Infrastructure

UPI continues to grow at a fast pace. UPI handled 21.70 billion transactions in January 2026 alone. The total value reached nearly Rs. 28.33 lakh crore. These numbers show the strength of India’s digital payments system.

NPCI said UPI is the world’s largest real-time payment system. By offering UPI One World at the India AI Summit 2026, India gives foreign delegates a direct experience of its digital public infrastructure.

The India AI Summit 2026 now highlights both artificial intelligence and financial technology. UPI One World makes digital payments easy for foreign delegates. It reduces the need for cash and currency exchange. It also shows how India builds simple and scalable digital solutions for the world.
