Dhoot Transmission shares made a strong debut on the stock exchanges on Monday (August 17, 2026), listing at nearly a 38% premium to the IPO price. The auto-component maker's shares opened at Rs. 1,200 on the NSE, compared with the issue price of Rs. 871, marking a gain of 37.77%. On the BSE, the stock began trading at Rs. 1,193.80, up 37.06%.
The Rs. 3,067-crore initial public offering attracted strong investor interest, with the issue subscribed 74.21 times during the bidding period. The robust listing also exceeded expectations indicated by the grey market before the debut.
The stock initially moved higher after listing. On the NSE, it touched an intraday high of Rs. 1,205 before slipping to around Rs. 1,131 as investors booked profits. The movement highlighted the volatility that can follow a sharp IPO debut.
For investors who received shares in the IPO, the strong debut already created a substantial listing gain. The bigger question now is whether the company can sustain its valuation as trading continues.
Founded in 1999, Dhoot Transmission has its headquarters in Aurangabad, Maharashtra. The company is planning to set up new units at Jhajjar, Haryana, and Hosur, Tamil Nadu. Market experts offered a broadly positive long-term view, while also flagging risks.
Shivani Nyati, Head of Wealth at Swastika Investmart, said, "The company’s strong revenue growth, established position in wiring harnesses and increasing exposure to the EV segment provide a healthy long-term growth outlook. However, elevated customer concentration and execution risks warrant monitoring. We maintain a positive long-term view and recommend holding with a stop-loss of Rs. 1,100.” For fresh investors, the sharp premium over the IPO price makes valuation an important consideration.

Dhoot Transmission manufactures wiring harnesses, sensors, controllers, switches, cables and connectors for automotive and other applications. Its increasing exposure to electric vehicles could support future growth as EVs require more electrical and electronic components.
The company plans to use IPO proceeds for debt repayment, new manufacturing facilities, and potential acquisitions. However, investors should watch valuation, customer concentration, execution, and earnings growth before making investment decisions.
