Apple users in India have been asked to update their devices without delay. The Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) has issued a fresh warning about several security flaws found in Apple products. The agency says these issues could allow hackers to access a device, run malicious programs, or make apps stop working.

The warning covers more than just iPhones. It also includes iPads, Macs, Apple Watches, Apple TVs, and the Safari browser. While Apple has already released fixes, they only work if users install the latest software.

Older Apple Devices Need Immediate Attention

According to CERT-In, the biggest risk is for people using older software versions. Devices that have not been updated are more likely to be targeted.

The warning applies to older versions of iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS, tvOS, and Safari. The most vulnerable devices are those that have been using Apple iOS versions before 26.5.2, iPadOS versions prior to 26.5.2, macOS Tahoe versions prior to 26.5.2, and Safari versions prior to 26.5.2. If these flaws are not fixed, they may lead to disclosure of sensitive information, privilege escalation, bypassing of security restrictions, arbitrary code execution, cross-origin data exfiltration, and denial-of-service (DoS) attacks.

Apple has already released security updates to solve these problems. Users should check for updates in the Settings menu on iPhones and iPads or System Settings on Macs. People using older Apple devices should also check whether their model still receives official software support. If updates are still available, installing them is the easiest way to stay safe.

Apple Usually Moves Faster With Security Updates

Apple follows a simple update system. Once a fix is ready, it is released to supported devices at the same time. Most users can install it on the same day.

On the contrary, Android follows a different process. Google releases security updates for Pixel phones first. Samsung, Xiaomi, OnePlus, and other brands then test those updates on their own devices before sending them to users. This extra step often means Android users wait longer for security patches.

Both Apple and Android receive security warnings from CERT-In from time to time. No phone is completely safe from new threats. The difference often comes down to how quickly users get updates and install them. Keeping a phone updated is one of the easiest ways to avoid security problems.

Buying an Older iPhone Can Bring Hidden Risks

Many people buy refurbished iPhones because they are much cheaper than new ones. This makes sense for anyone trying to save money. However, there is one thing buyers should always check. Apple is no longer issuing its latest security updates to some older iPhones. If the phone performs well, it might be protected against new attacks.

Before you buy a used iPhone, it’s worth checking if Apple still supports that model. While the lower price is nice, frequent security updates are just as important if you plan to use the phone every day.
