Call of Duty: Mobile Season 7, Phantom Current, is set to release on July 30, 2025. The update includes one of the most anticipated content drops of 2025, featuring a new Mythic Operator, a unique RC-XD racing mode, Gulag-style Battle Royale mode, and new Battle Pass rewards.

Kicking off the season is the new Mythic Operator, Dark Shepherd. The Phantom-themed operator will appear in the Battle Pass and as a Lucky Draw. Players can look forward to detailed design, animated effects, and special lore with top-tier skin.

Racing, Gulag, and Skill Upgrades Redefine Gameplay

A brand-new ‘Mini Mayhem Multiplayer’ mode is also launching. This mode swaps guns for speed, letting players race RC-XD cars on twisty tracks. Players can play solo or in groups of up to 8.

The mode features death zones that instantly destroy cars and respawn points, giving players another chance. It's an entirely new gameplay experience in Call of Duty: Mobile, and player feedback will determine whether it remains a long-term success.

In a major development for Battle Royale players, the Gulag system is arriving in the game. First introduced in Warzone, it gives eliminated players a chance to return by winning a 1-v-1 duel. Available exclusively on the Isolated BR map during limited-time events. Players who get defeated in the duel will have to wait for a teammate to buy them back.

One gameplay addition is the Skill Overdrive wildcard. This enables players to add a second Operator Skill in Multiplayer matches. It introduces new strategy and will be closely monitored for balance in Ranked play.

What Makes Season 7 Phantom Current So Game-Changing?

This season’s Battle Pass offers both free and premium items. On the free side, there is the MG 82 light machine gun, a Bomb Drone scorestreak, and themed equipment. The premium Battle Pass includes Phantom-inspired Operator skins like Farah and Ethan, and additional COD Points.

Season 7 also includes exclusive in-game events. Players receive summer-inspired items such as the Soap: Toxic Splash skin and the Tak-5 Propeller Operator Skill from the Challenge Pass. Players can also unlock the RUS-79U: Mystical Lamp using the Secret Caches event. A partnership with Girls' Frontline also introduces daily log-in rewards, themed missions, and unlockable cosmetics.

Overall, Season 7 promises to transform how players engage with Call of Duty: Mobile. The introduction of a racing mode, revival mechanics in Battle Royale, and customizable loadouts make Phantom Current one of the most ambitious and experimental seasons to date. All updates will go live worldwide on July 30 for both iOS and Android devices.
