Classic Call of Duty titles Black Ops and Black Ops 2 are set to make their way to PlayStation systems in July 2026. While developer Treyarch and publisher Activision have yet to officially reveal pricing details, supported platforms, or a release date. Recent updates on Xbox and PC storefronts may offer a strong indication of what PlayStation players can expect.
As CharlieIntel, the official news site for Call of Duty, reports, both Call of Duty: Black Ops and Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 have received a pricing update on Xbox and PC. The base game for both is now $39.99, while the cost of individual DLCs has dropped to $10 from $15.
Additionally, both season passes have gained a massive discount, lowering the price from $50 to $30. This happened after Treyarch tweeted regarding PlayStation ports of both fan favorites.
Recent changes to the storefront suggest that both games could cost $40 each on PlayStation, with DLC priced similarly to the Xbox and PC versions. However, Activision hasn’t confirmed the news yet and the games are not currently listed on the PlayStation Store.
The announced price ranges have caused controversy among gamers, particularly since the PlayStation releases are unlikely to offer any graphical enhancements, remastered visuals, or additional game features.
Instead, the ports will reportedly offer the complete original experience, including:
Campaign
Multiplayer
Zombies mode
PlayStation versions will be developed by Iron Galaxy, the developer of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4.
Call of Duty: Black Ops debuted in 2010, while Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 was released in 2012. The titles were supported on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and personal computers (PCs).
Xbox users can now play the games via the Xbox 360 backward compatibility option on the Xbox Series X/S console. However, the PlayStation consoles (PS4 and PS5) cannot run PS3 games since they lack backward compatibility.
