Electronic Arts has been in the news recently. Whether it’s because of this gaming studio putting popular franchises on hold or taking back comparatively less popular titles, it’s in the limelight. When EA fans are worried about the uncertain future of Anthem and Need for Speed, the Battlefield franchise is reportedly bringing some ray of hope for gamers.
Battlefield is one of the most popular gaming franchises by EA. Reportedly, the upcoming installment, Battlefield 6, is set to be revealed on July 31, 2025. Clearing the dense cloud of rumor and speculation, it is time to dive into the next installment of this FPS franchise officially.
Speculations around Battlefield 6’s development have been going on for a long time. Earlier this year, in February, its existence was confirmed. To be precise, this time, four highly capable gaming studios, DICE, Motive Studios, Ripple Effect Studios, and Criterion Games, have been collectively working on its development. They jointly formed Battlefield Studios.
As of now, official information regarding the game’s development stage or the Battlefield 6 release date hasn’t yet been stated, but insiders confirm EA is ready to share details of the upcoming title on July 31.
According to sources close to the developer team, EA is hosting a 3-day event starting on July 29, inspired by Call of Duty: Next, an annual event where Activision shares the latest updates on the Call of Duty franchise. However, leaks say the EA event will be named ‘EV Event’ and not a Battlefield Event. So, it won't be an exclusive Battlefield event; instead, multiple other games will be showcased.
These speculations regarding the event and the release date originated after one creator shared an update about him receiving a promotional package. Reportedly, a number of other creators also received this same package, which they can open on July 24 to get the details of the event.
As per the reports, starting from July 29, content creators and the media are invited to dive into the game, and on July 31, it will be revealed for the public. Soon after this event, the Battlefield 6 open beta will begin.

Interestingly, these X posts aren’t the first sources to leak the game's release date. Instead, someone on Reddit shared the same earlier this month. However, at that time, players didn’t take things seriously because there wasn’t any solid evidence that later arrived with the promotional packages.
Currently, things are heating up, with unofficial updates circulating for the last few weeks. A few days back, a leaked clip surfaced online showing the presence of a battle royale mode in the upcoming title.
The promotional package also showcases a few details. The name is written as Battlefield 6, so the official name of the game is the same. Apart from that, the stripes indicate game modes such as ‘Conquest,’ ‘Rush,’ and ‘Breakthrough,’ confirming that these modes will be available in the game. Among everything else, the possibility of a public beta has fueled the hype the most.
Being one of EA’s flagship franchises, Battlefield’s commercial success matters to the publisher more than anything else. The disappointing reception of the 2021 title, Battlefield 2042, has put pressure on the developer teams to turn the tables with the upcoming game. To ensure success, Battlefield 6 received a playtest earlier this year.
Coming to the release date rumor, it seems trustworthy to gamers because it aligns with EA’s previous announcement of a ‘Summer 2025’ release. Exact details regarding the Battlefield 6 gameplay are still under wraps, but hopefully, the game isn’t far away anymore.
