Apple is set to unveil its upcoming iPhone 17 series on September 9, 2025, at Steve Jobs Theater in Apple Park, during the ‘Awe Dropping’ event. This lineup has already been in discussions for the advanced features, but what enthusiasts want to know more is the price of the models. According to reports, iPhone 17 Pro price is expected to see a significant increase.
Previously, reports indicated that this lineup will see a massive price rise, but a latest JPMorgan report contradicts all, saying the price range of the iPhone 17 lineup will be moderate. Most models will retain their prices from last year, except for iPhone 17 Pro. It will probably see a $100 increase.
iPhone 17 launch date is drawing closer, so anticipation regarding these models is also increasing. Departing from all previous reports, the latest JP Morgan study reveals that Apple won’t experiment with the prices of the upcoming models. The base model will be available at around $799, just like its predecessor.
iPhone 17 Air will either be priced in the same range as the iPhone 16 Plus, which is $899, or it will see a $50 price increase. Moreover, the study states that iPhone 17 Pro Max won’t exceed the previous price of $1,199 for the 256 GB model.
The only model expected to see a decent price hike, according to the report, is iPhone 17 Pro. This model will face a $100 price rise, but the convincing part is that this time the Pro model will come with 256 GB storage, double that of the previous 128 GB.
This pricing strategy reveals a careful balance where mainstream buyers can afford all the models, but still, the Pro models will be the most expensive and premium devices.

If the question is whether this pricing strategy is justified, consumers should consider the features these models are about to offer. The upcoming Pro models will come with the powerful A19 Pro chip, which is built on an advanced 3nm process. This combination will boost efficiency and performance.
Camera is another aspect that iPhone 17 Pro is going to upgrade. This model will feature a triple camera setup with 48MP sensors, an improved telephoto zoom, and a 24MP front-facing camera.
Moreover, the ultra-thin body, 120 Hz ProMotion refresh rates, L-shaped batteries, and other design features make these models stand out in Apple’s iPhone lineup.
Considering the features, it seems that Apple’s decent price hike strategy is justified. Its 256 GB storage will attract users who depend on mobile devices for high-resolution photography, gaming, and content creation to upgrade to the Pro model. The $100 price increase won’t disappoint them.
However, risks remain, especially with the Air model. Apple is positioning it between the base and the Pro model. It may hamper user attention. Still, the unchanged price of the base model and Pro Max indicated that Apple is considering consumer emotions carefully to capture the market.
