Amazon has cut more jobs from its Selling Partner Services team. The division mainly works with third-party sellers who use Amazon’s platform to sell products. Reports say employees connected to seller support and account services were affected in the latest round.

The e-commerce giant has not revealed the exact number of layoffs, but the number is somewhere around 30,000. The move adds to the long list of job cuts the company has made over the last few years. Many large tech firms are continuing to reduce staff as they try to control spending and reorganize teams.

The company hired heavily during the pandemic, when online shopping grew rapidly. Later, growth slowed, and several tech companies began reviewing costs and reducing workforce size.

Amazon’s Layoff Trend Continues Across the Company

Amazon has already removed thousands of workers since 2023. Departments, including gaming, cloud services, devices, advertising, and HR, have faced layoffs during this period.

The same pattern has been seen across the tech industry. Meta also cut thousands of jobs as it reorganized its business operations. Other companies followed similar steps after expanding quickly during the pandemic.

Reports suggest the latest cuts within Selling Partner Services may be linked to cost-saving plans and shifting priorities at Amazon. The company is also placing greater emphasis on automation and AI-based systems. Some work that previously required large teams may now be handled with software and automated tools.

Regarding the latest layoff, an Amazon spokesperson has revealed that the company regularly reviews its performance. He added, “Following a recent review, we've made the difficult decision to eliminate a relatively small number of roles in our Selling Partner Services team.”

Amazon Layoffs Raise Fresh Concerns About Tech Jobs

The recent layoffs have once again started discussions around how stable tech jobs really are today. For a long time, companies like Amazon were seen as secure places to build careers. This image has changed after repeated layoffs across the industry.

Many workers now feel that even profitable companies are willing to cut jobs if business priorities change. Companies are trying to run operations with fewer employees while improving speed and efficiency.

The shift has also changed how workers view careers at big tech firms. Employees are paying closer attention to the company's direction, future plans, and departmental performance before making long-term decisions. Some industry experts believe the sector is still adjusting after years of fast growth during the pandemic.

Amazon Funds AI Push with Restructuring Plans

Amazon’s latest layoffs come amid the company's heavy investment in artificial intelligence and automation. The company has increased spending on AI tools, cloud systems, and automation across various parts of the business.

This has led to a bigger question across the industry. Are companies reducing teams only to save money, or is AI slowly changing how large businesses operate?

A lot of tech companies are putting serious money into AI these days while quietly trimming more traditional positions. So it feels like everything is moving at once. Amazon seems to be going along that same route, reworking different areas of its business here and there.

What happens in the long run is still not fully clear, though, and it’s a bit hard to pin down. The most recent layoffs suggest that the tech world is entering yet another big transition, as AI becomes increasingly more central.
