Position Overview

IBM Consulting is hiring a Data Engineer – Data Integration for its Mumbai-based Client Innovation Center. In this role, you will work with advanced technologies and real-time data systems to support key business decisions across public and private sector projects.

Responsibilities include building and optimizing data pipelines, integrating complex systems, and handling structured and unstructured data. You'll work in an Agile, collaborative environment, contributing to data acquisition strategies, enterprise-scale search applications, and innovative data solutions that drive business transformation.

Primary Responsibilities

As a Data Engineer at IBM, you will design and manage scalable data systems, enabling real-time and batch processing. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you'll uncover patterns in complex data, resolve integration challenges, and support impactful analysis through efficient data gathering, storage, and processing strategies.

In this role, your responsibilities may include:

1. Implementing and validating predictive models and maintaining statistical models focused on big data using advanced statistical and machine learning techniques.

2. Designing and deploying enterprise search solutions such as Elasticsearch and Splunk to meet specific client needs.

3. Working in an Agile, collaborative environment alongside scientists, engineers, consultants, and database administrators to apply statistical methods to behavioral prediction challenges.

4. Developing tools or writing programs to clean, integrate, and prepare data efficiently and in a reusable manner for analysis.

5. Building predictive and prescriptive models and rigorously evaluating the results to ensure accuracy and business relevance.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

1. Proficiency in Data Warehousing, Information Management, Data Integration, and Business Intelligence using ETL tools such as Informatica PowerCenter.

2. Familiarity with cloud platforms, Power BI, and data migration to the cloud.

3. Hands-on experience with Unix shell scripting and Python.

4. Strong knowledge of relational SQL and Big Data technologies.

Preferred Technical and Professional Experience

1. Experience working with MS Azure Cloud

2. Proven expertise with Informatica PowerCenter

3. Advanced skills in Unix shell scripting and Python
