GTA 6 is now coming on May 26, 2026, after a sudden postponement for polishing characters.
GTA 6 players have noticed the game has changed some NPC appearances, including Jason’s.
This has sparked theories among fans regarding what’s going on in the game and what Rockstar is actually planning.
Rockstar Games’ Grand Theft Auto franchise is famous for its attention to detail and commitment to delivering engaging gameplay experiences. With every new GTA installment, Rockstar sets the bar higher than the previous one. Expectedly, this similar track will be followed by GTA 6. Except for the postponement of the release date, there’s hardly any detail of this game released officially.
This doesn’t stop fans from analyzing trailers and figuring out even the smallest details about the upcoming GTA installment. While the first GTA 6 trailer hinted at a lot of things, the second trailer has shown them more prominently. Amidst loads of changes, what has attracted the attention of gamers the most is the appearance of the NPCs in trailer 2.
The postponement of GTA 6 has disheartened fans for sure, but the reason is understandable. Rockstar is going to release the most hyped game of recent years, so ensuring the quality is necessary. It’s evident that Rockstar is making changes to the game, as fans have noticed certain NPCs appearing different in trailer 2 than in trailer 1.
Analyzing both trailers, fans have discovered that some NPCs that have appeared in both trailers witnessed substantial changes in trailer 2. For instance, one NPC that they have pointed out is featured in both trailers, but in trailer 2, he looks different. The name of the NPC is still unknown, but after the first trailer came out, TikToker zoeepoppyy uploaded a video claiming that the NPC was based upon him. This claim was hard to ignore, considering the similarities in appearance between these two characters.
Notably, when that same character appeared in GTA 6 trailer 2, his appearance was completely changed. It seems like Rockstar has changed the appearance of the character to avoid any resemblance to any real-life character. However, previously, Rockstar has created parodies of real-world people, so that may or may not be the reason behind changing the appearance of this NPC.
Apart from this NPC, some players have noticed that the appearance of Jason has also changed. In the first trailer, he appeared as a rugged character with distinct features. However, the latest trailer has made him a more presentable one with certain changes in his facial structure, hairstyle, and overall demeanor. These changes have sparked discussion in the community about Rockstar modifying the character appearances, which is one of the reasons for this delayed release.

The GTA community is the most active community, where something is always going on. Since these changes have come to the surface, players have started sharing their opinions on what could be the possible reasons behind this. There are different theories going on about the appearance changes. While some players appreciate these new looks, others on different platforms like Reddit debate the implications of such changes.
These changes have concerned players about the continuity in the storyline. Multiple players have expressed their concerns about whether these shifts lead to some massive changes to the game’s storyline. The answer is only with Rockstar for now. It may bring significant changes to the storyline, or it can simply be a method to make the characters more interesting.
These appearance changes of the NPCs have sparked discussions among fans. The exact reasons aren’t yet clear. There can be something big, or it’s probably a mere change without any significance. However, it highlights that Rockstar is committed to refining its characters to deliver a compelling narrative. Until the game officially releases or Rockstar launches official statements, it’s unclear what these changes signify.
