Elden Ring Nightreign is finally live. This spinoff of 2022’s biggest hit open-world RPG introduces a parallel world that’s not connected to the original game. Instead, it presents a new realm that is equally challenging for players to survive. Just like Elden Ring, Nightreign also has formidable bosses waiting at every step.
The very first hurdle that players will face in Elden Ring Nightreign is Nightlord Gladius. This enemy is alternatively known as Gladius, Beast of Night. This three-headed monster is found at the end of the Tricephalos expedition.
It’s the first major enemy, and it tests players’ skills, strategy, and patience. It shows what the game has prepared for players as they progress. So, if you are struggling to beat Gladius, here's all the necessary information to take this enemy down in the game.
As a first boss, Gladius is highly aggressive and unexpectedly agile. The toughest part of fighting this world boss is that it has a range of attacks that deal massive damage to players if landed correctly. While this enemy is weak to melee damage mostly, players should go for Holy damage. Therefore, players must enhance their weapons with Holy attributes to become specifically effective against Gladius.
Those who aren’t comfortable with Holy damage can choose Bleed damage. Bleed damage keeps draining health from the enemy over time, making it weaker as the battle progresses.
Now, when it comes to the boss’ moves, one of his signature moves includes his Chained Sword Attack. In this attack, the boss swipes the chainsword. The deadly part of this attack is that it can hit players even if they are behind him.
It's recommended to stay away from the enemy and dodge the attack timely manner to avoid massive damage. Sometimes, this boss can also shoot fireballs while riding his mount. Therefore, this enemy isn’t only formidable in close range, but it has ranged attacks as well.
After players drain nearly 25% of their health, this boss divides into three wolves, and each of these animals is capable of dealing damage. In this phase, players need to deal damage to these wolves. Damaging any of the three wolves will result in Gladius’s overall health reduction.

In this attack, all three mouths of the enemy shine purple, and he attempts to grab all three players together. Another devastating move is the Flame Sword Explosion. In this move, Gladius grabs his flaming sword in his mouth, charges it up, and launches a frontal fire blast that hits players even if they are away from the boss. While The Raider’s massive health and immunity become the strength of this class, Iron Eye characters can keep hitting the boss with bow and arrow to drain its health constantly.
