Apple is ready to launch the iPhone 17 series on September 9 at its big ‘Awe Dropping’ event. Several Leaks over the past few months have already given a clear picture of the new models, their prices in India, and the features fans can expect.
The latest series will feature four models: iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max. Prices are likely to start at about $799, which is around Rs. 70,500 in India, for the standard iPhone 17. It will keep the same 128 GB storage option as before.
iPhone 17 Pro could see a big price jump. Reports indicate that the Pro model may cost $1,199 (approximately Rs. 1.05 lakh), but storage will start at 256 GB instead of 128 GB. Meanwhile, the top model, iPhone 17 Pro Max, might start at $1,299 (about Rs. 1.14 lakh).
iPhone 17 Air may start at around Rs. 1 lakh in India, with higher storage versions priced at Rs. 1.49 lakh. The new iPhone 17 Air emerges as a sleek, ultra-thin addition. Leaks suggest that this model may start at around $1,099, landing between Rs. 1 lakh and Rs. 1.10 lakh, with higher storage tiers - 512 GB and 1 TB - possibly priced at around Rs. 1.20 lakh and Rs. 1.49 lakh, respectively.
The surprise in this year’s lineup is iPhone 17 Air. This phone may focus on a slim design and light weight. Unique features may include a titanium frame, a mere 5.5 mm thickness, a weight under 150 g, a single 48 MP rear sensor, a 24 MP selfie camera, but only a 2,900 mAh battery – raising questions about battery endurance.
Performance-wise, the iPhone 17 series is expected to be powered by the latest A19 chip from Apple. The regular iPhone 17 will likely receive A19 processor, while the Pro and Pro Max editions are expected to come with the faster A19 Pro chip. These chips are designed to enhance performance while maintaining power efficiency.
Apple is also expected to improve the displays, offering 120 Hz refresh rates for smoother use. Pro models may also come with up to 12GB of RAM, making them faster and better suited for multitasking.
Cameras will be another highlight. iPhone 17 may feature a 48MP primary lens and a 12MP ultrawide lens. However, there may be considerable upgrades from the Pro models, including a telephoto lens with a 48 MP resolution that offers sharper zoom and clearer photos.
