Easy Repair Means Longevity: Will Apple Take Longer to Bring the Next iPhone Model?

Apple has introduced a new repairability feature and delayed any new model launch for the time being

Apple's first iPhone model has launched years ago, and since then the company has worked hard to ensure that the iPhone series is efficient and serves the users' interests. Initially, when iPhone was launched, it jumped far ahead of the competition and started the smartphone revolution. Apple has always been the pioneer of avant-garde mobile features and has focused on serving solely on serving the niche tech-fanatic audiences who are always looking for advancements and efficiency in their daily lives. With yet another achievement, Apple's new upgrade for iPhone 14 has made it far easier and more affordable to repair.

The big tech giant has accepted that iPhone 14 was designed to be easier to repair, but its promotion has not yet hit the mark. The new iPhone 14 teardown video from iFixit demonstrates a major repairability improvement, including a removable black glass. The shows how users can lift the rear glass panel with ease, using only a heating mat, a suction handle, or just an opening stick, which is actually a huge transformation from conventional iPhone models that were not so repair-friendly.

iFixit goes on to describe the process more vividly on their website stating that the back glass is only secured with two screws and a single connector. But experts believe that Apple has apparently used an adhesive that is not so strong, making it a lot easier to take off the back panel without using expensive tools. iFixit also said that removing those same screws will give the users access to the screen in case that needed repair as well! The glass backing was first introduced in the Apple iPhone 8, which aimed to replace that panel through an easy process.

Earlier, the company was hushed about this repairability update being introduced to the iPhone 14, which is odd considering the company's movements in the smartphone revolution. Some tech enthusiasts say that since Apple is now properly advertising this new repairability feature, the next iPhone model might take a little bit more time to be launched. Nevertheless, it is quite evident that smartphone users might remain excited about the new upgrades, without asking for any new models for the time being.
