ERC-20 and ERC-721 Support 

Furthermore, the latest Dev Release expands BlockDAG Explorer's capabilities by providing detailed support for Standard Token Contracts. This update introduces specific modules for ERC-20 and ERC-721 tokens. The ERC-20 Token Module will offer details like token symbols, names, total supplies, and decimals. It also features a dynamic circular supply model that displays the distribution and balance of tokens among holders in real time. 

Additionally, it includes tools for parsing Transfer() and Allowance() events, which are essential for monitoring transactions and approved token usage in DeFi applications. Meanwhile, the ERC-721 Token Module will provide detailed tracking for each NFT, including ownership history, metadata, and transaction events. The ERC-721 Token Module also includes functionality for parsing TokenURI, which retrieves metadata such as images and properties stored off-chain. 

Dual Architecture with EVM and UTXO

Moving on, Dev Release 132 showcases BlockDAG's unique architecture, which supports both EVM-based smart contracts and the UTXO model. On the EVM side, BlockDAG executes smart contracts using bytecode, manages each account's state and storage, and updates the global blockchain state to ensure consistent outcomes. It also calculates the gas for each transaction to prevent abuse and maintain computational efficiency.

On the other hand, the UTXO model in BlockDAG processes transactions statelessly, consuming and creating UTXOs without maintaining balances. This model, tailored for fast, straightforward transaction processing, does not support Turing-complete contracts, making it highly efficient for transaction verification. Additionally, its ability to handle transactions in parallel boosts scalability, providing a robust solution for high-throughput demands.

BlockDAG's Internal Transactions Module

Parallel to this, the release also introduces the Internal Transactions Module to BlockDAG’s Explorer, offering a comprehensive view of the inner workings of smart contracts. BlockDAG's team is developing tools to provide detailed insights into internal contract calls. This module will trace all internal transactions, logging the stack of contract calls and the gas used for each internal call.

Furthermore, it enables tracking state changes and variable adjustments within contracts. Users can see exactly when and how balances or storage variables change during transactions. The module also introduces gas profiling for internal transactions, allowing developers to identify and optimise costly internal calls, enhancing contract efficiency.
