Apple’s Siri AI arrives in India with iOS 27, bringing a more capable voice assistant to compatible iPhones. The feature arrived on September 14 and runs on the iPhone 18 Pro out of the box. Siri AI remains in beta, supports English, and requires users to join a waiting list. Apple also applies daily limits on server requests.
The updated Siri can search information across Messages, Mail, and Photos. Users can ask Siri to find details such as booking codes from older emails. Call Context can also display relevant information, including a booking number, during a business call.
Siri AI can understand information displayed on the screen. Users can ask the assistant to turn details from a webpage, such as a sports fixture list, into calendar entries. Siri can be activated through the wake phrase, side button, or a swipe down from the Dynamic Island.
Visual Intelligence now works through the Camera app as a Siri mode. Users can point the camera at a printed schedule, including a wedding card, and ask Siri to extract relevant information.
Siri AI also works with third-party apps. Apple specifically names WhatsApp for sending messages through voice commands. Audible playback is supported, while Microsoft Outlook, Notability, and Tripsy are among the apps listed for upcoming support.
Writing Tools can draft and rewrite text in apps where users type. Siri can also adapt writing according to the user’s style. Dictation receives an upgrade through Apple’s AFM Core Advanced model, adding punctuation and formatting as speech continues.
The Shortcuts app can create automations from plain-language instructions. Users can describe the action they want instead of manually building each step.
