Fortnite Patch v42.10 is here, and this update has brought some of the most awaited changes to the battle royale. The most important part is how it has changed the way several weapons work. For example, the Pump Shotgun gets a damage boost and can be equipped faster. On the other hand, the Assault Rifle has been weakened, with lower headshot damage and a small drop in Mythic damage. Its reload also got slower. The update brings back the Sweeper Shotgun with some big changes to how it fires and reloads.
The Sweeper Shotgun now has a more standard spread, making its shots easier to control. Players can also fire it once enough shells are loaded instead of waiting for the full reload. Its fire rate has gone up as well. The weapon now comes with a smaller magazine and a shorter range. The 8-Bit Shotgun has also received a damage cut, while the Mega Buster now fires its shots faster.
After the changes introduced in the update, the Pump Shotgun can be the easiest pick for close fights. Its faster equip time can help players react quickly when an enemy gets close. The extra damage also gives it more damage output in short-range battles.

Similarly, the Assault Rifle now loses some of its strength. The lower headshot damage could make it less effective in some fights. The slower reload may also force players to think twice before staying in a long gunfight.
Not only were the weapons updated, but the patch also introduced new Loot Hacks that offer players more ways to customize their loot. Epic has also lowered the weapon quality available through these hacks.
Apart from these, the new update has brought Big Head Mode, Prop Hunt, and Action Hero modes to make the gameplay feel more exciting for regular players. There are even four new sprites: X-Ray Sprite, Onigiri Sprite, Mega Man Sprite, and Overshield Sprite.
Additionally, the update has fixed several bugs and errors that players have been complaining about for a long time, including the Spider-Sense Emote no longer incorrectly showing web effects, the Heatwave PJ Outfit no longer playing reactive elimination audio, and more. Though it took time, Epic Games has finally fixed things to make the game playable for everyone, without frequent issues.
