WhatsApp's new feature will enable cross-platform messaging, meaning that users can send and receive messages from other apps.

Such as Telegram, Signal, or iMessage, without having to switch or download them.

This feature is in response to the EU's new DMA, which aims to prevent market dominance and unfair practices.

WhatsApp plans to start training its new AI system, which will power the third-party chats feature, in early 2024.

The AI system will be as powerful as OpenAI's GPT-4, a large language model that can generate realistic and diverse text on any topic.
