Elon Musk Plans to Launch a New AI Firm to Take on OpenAI
On Wednesday, Elon Musk unveiled his long-awaited artificial intelligence business xAI.
Assembling a team of engineers from the same major US IT businesses that he aims to fight in his effort to establish a ChatGPT rival.
Musk has previously stated that AI development should be halted and that the field needs oversight.
Musk is listed as the only director of the company, with Jared Birchall, the managing director of Musk's family office, listed as a secretary.
In April, the billionaire announced the introduction of TruthGPT to compete with Google's Bard and Microsoft's Bing AI.
