On Thursday, Google held its inaugural Research event in Bengaluru, bringing together renowned AI practitioners and academics to explore local solutions.

Jeff Dean worked to promote Google's 1,000-language initiative, which aims to make AI models available in all major languages.

This is critical, he believes, because many languages spoken by millions of people throughout the world lack large written resources.

These languages might be made available using AI technology to determine their potential.

He also discussed AI's fast progress, emphasizing the importance of being mindful of the "rough edges and potential pitfalls" associated with scaling machine learning models.
