Apple now has two very different flagship phones. The iPhone 18 Pro Max is one of the best flagship models Apple has ever released, with improved camera and other premium features. On the other hand, the iPhone Duo is its first foldable iPhone.
It opens to a 7.6-inch screen, which is almost 50% larger than the iPhone 18 Pro Max, and has a 5.4-inch display on the outside. The iPhone 18 Pro Max has a more familiar design with a 6.9-inch display. Both phones use Apple’s A20 Pro chip and offer up to 2TB of storage.
Additionally, the iPhone 18 Pro Max has a 48MP Pro Fusion camera system, including a 48MP Fusion Main lens, a 48MP Fusion Ultra Wide lens, and a 48MP Fusion Telephoto lens. Alternatively, the Duo has the same main lens but without the variable aperture. Also, the iPhone Duo does not have a telephoto lens; instead, it does have a 12MP Center Stage selfie camera.
Price makes the choice harder. The iPhone 18 Pro Max starts at USD 1,299, while the iPhone Duo starts at USD 1,999. In India, the starting prices are Rs. 1,79,900 and Rs. 2,99,900. The Duo gives buyers a large screen that is useful for videos, games, and multitasking. The Pro Max has a three-camera setup with a telephoto lens and costs much less.
The Duo is clearly aimed at people who want something different. Its big inner screen gives more space for apps, games, and videos. Users can also do quick tasks on the outer screen without opening the phone.
The Pro Max takes a more familiar approach. It has a 6.9-inch display, three cameras, and a lower price. It also reaches stores first, with sales starting September 18. The Duo goes on sale from October 23.
For someone who already owns a Pro Max from another iPhone series, the Duo may not feel like a direct upgrade instantly, at least considering the specifications. Both phones use the A20 Pro chip. The Pro Max also gives users more camera options.

The Duo is more about the experience. Buyers are paying extra for a foldable design and a bigger screen in a smaller package.
The Pro Max makes more sense for most buyers who want strong cameras, a large display, and better value. The Duo is for people ready to spend more for Apple’s new foldable experience.
