Aadhaar Address Update — Overview: Updating your address in Aadhaar can now be done completely online through UIDAI’s myAadhaar portal. The process is simple, paperless and time-saving. Citizens no longer need to visit Aadhaar centres if their mobile number is registered and they possess a valid proof of address document.

Things You Need Before Starting: Before beginning the online Aadhaar address update, keep your 12-digit Aadhaar number ready. Ensure your mobile number is linked to Aadhaar to receive OTPs. You will also need a valid Proof of Address document such as a utility bill, bank statement, passport or voter ID.

Login to the myAadhaar Portal: Visit the official UIDAI myAadhaar portal and select the update Aadhaar option. Enter your Aadhaar number, captcha code and verify using the OTP sent to your registered mobile number. This secure login process ensures only authorised users can update Aadhaar details.

Enter New Address Details: Once logged in, select the address update option. Carefully enter your new address exactly as mentioned in your proof document. Accuracy is crucial, as mismatched details may lead to rejection. Review spellings, pin code and state information before proceeding to the next step.

Upload Proof and Pay Fee: Upload a clear scanned copy or photo of your valid Proof of Address document. After uploading, review your application and submit it. A nominal fee of Rs 50 is charged for online Aadhaar updates. Payment can be made using net banking, UPI or cards.

Track Your Update Request: After submission, a Service Request Number (SRN) is generated. Save this number to track your Aadhaar address update status online. UIDAI usually processes requests within a few days. You can check progress anytime on the myAadhaar portal using your SRN.

Download Updated Aadhaar: Once approved, you can download your updated e-Aadhaar from the UIDAI website. The revised address will reflect across Aadhaar-linked services. If online updating is not possible, users can visit an Aadhaar Seva Kendra with documents for offline assistance.
