Xiaomi is reportedly preparing to launch its Xiaomi 18 series in China later this month. The company did not announce an official date, although some leaks point to September 24. The timing would put the launch close to Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Summit, scheduled for September 22-24.
Current reports suggest the Xiaomi 18 Pro, Xiaomi 18 Pro Max and a foldable model could arrive together, while the standard Xiaomi 18 may launch later. The company has not confirmed any of these details.
Xiaomi 18 Pro and Xiaomi 18 Pro Max will be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 chipset. According to recent reports, the chipset is manufactured through a 2nm fabrication process, making it more efficient than previous iterations of the chipset. It will form part of the major upgrade that Xiaomi is set to bring in its flagship line of phones as Qualcomm is about to launch the next generation flagship chipset.
Camera hardware could be another major focus of the Xiaomi 18 series. Leaks cited by Analytics Insight suggest that the phones could feature 200-megapixel sensors for both the main and telephoto cameras.
The camera setup would give Xiaomi a high-resolution sensor for standard photography as well as telephoto shooting. The details of the sensors, including their sizes and other camera specifications, remain unconfirmed.
Other leaked specifications include a battery capacity of around 7,000mAh and a 6.4-inch 2K display with a 120Hz refresh rate. A combination of a large battery and high-resolution, high-refresh-rate display would put battery endurance alongside display quality among the phone’s key hardware features.
Xiaomi is also reportedly working on a foldable phone called Xiaomi 18 Fold. The device could use Xiaomi’s own XRING O3 processor instead of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon platform.
The foldability remains particularly uncertain. Xiaomi has not confirmed its existence, design, specifications or release date. Its reported use of an in-house processor would, however, give the company another opportunity to promote its own silicon alongside its conventional flagship phones.

For buyers outside China, the biggest unanswered question is availability. Xiaomi has not confirmed whether the reported Xiaomi 18 models will launch internationally or reach India.
Pricing is also unknown. For now, the late-September China launch is the clearest indication available, while September 24, the final lineup and the reported specifications remain unconfirmed.
If the leaks prove accurate, Xiaomi’s next flagship generation will focus on three areas: Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon platform, 200MP camera hardware and a possible foldable phone.
