WhatsApp is working on a new feature to help iPhone users manage multiple accounts within a single app. The update is slated to streamline personal and professional communication. Rumours about this modification have already created a buzz among Apple product enthusiasts.
WhatsApp has started rolling out a new TestFlight beta for iOS that brings native multi-account support. This feature will allow users to switch between two accounts on the same device without any hassle.
According to reports, some beta testers have gained access to an ‘Account List’ section inside the app’s settings. The option might also appear as a shortcut next to the QR code button, as the report mentioned. Users can now add a second account directly within WhatsApp with this new menu.
The beta version allowed users to have only two accounts, but this setup is flexible. Testers can register a new phone number, link an existing WhatsApp account that was previously used on another phone or on WhatsApp Business, or scan a QR code to connect a companion account.
The secondary account will automatically sync chats and settings with the primary device after setup.
Each account will retain its own configuration, such as chat backups, notification preferences, and other settings. This ensures that activity on one profile does not interfere with the other.
WhatsApp will provide incoming notifications with the appropriate account to avoid confusion. After tapping the notification, users will be directed straight to the correct account and open the chat.
WhatsApp has also added its App Lock feature to the multi-account setup. The app will prompt users to verify their identity using Face ID and device passwords when switching to an account.
This feature ensures that sensitive information stays secure even as multiple accounts are being used.

This feature might become extremely helpful for eSIM users. WhatsApp’s testing of multi-account support on iOS shows the platform’s determination to keep pace with modern communication trends. This upgrade is also rumoured to provide efficiency improvements and functional clarity.
The upgrade will eliminate the need for multiple devices, workarounds, or third-party apps after large-scale implementations. It is currently available in public beta testing. However, Apple has not yet revealed any date for the complete rollout.
