Vivo has showcased its Vision Discovery Edition mixed reality headset in India at the Vivo NEXT 2026 event. The device combines virtual and augmented reality features with eye tracking and gesture-based controls. It runs on OriginOS Vision, Vivo’s operating system developed for mixed reality.

The company has not announced India pricing or retail availability yet. Vivo said customers can experience the headset through 15 experience zones across 10 cities in India.

Vivo Vision Discovery Edition Brings 8K Displays

The headset weighs 398 grams and measures 83mm in height and 40mm in thickness. Vivo has included a padded headband along with different light-seal and foam-padding options for improved fit.

The Vision Discovery Edition uses dual binocular Micro-OLED displays with an 8K resolution. Each eye gets a 3,840x3,552-pixel display. The screens cover 94% of the DCI-P3 colour gamut and have a Delta E value below 2.

The device is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2 platform. Vivo says the chipset provides up to 2.5 times higher GPU performance and eight times higher AI performance compared with the previous-generation platform.

The headset also supports ultra-low-latency passthrough. Its camera and depth-sensing system support eye tracking with 1.5-degree precision. Hand and finger tracking supports 26 degrees of freedom, with a vertical tracking range of 175 degrees.

120-Foot Cinema Mode Highlighted

Vivo is promoting the Vision Cinema Mode as one of the headset’s key entertainment features. It can create a virtual screen equivalent to a 120-foot cinema display.

The headset can also be used for live sports, esports and gaming. Users can interact with virtual elements through hand movements and pinch gestures instead of relying only on physical controllers.

The Vision Discovery Edition was previously introduced in China. Its India showcase now gives users a chance to experience Vivo’s mixed reality hardware directly across selected Vivo stores. Vivo has yet to confirm when the headset will be available for purchase in India or disclose its price.
