
The mobile game ‘The Simpsons: Tapped Out’ inspired by the popular animated sitcom ‘Simpsons’ is shutting down after 12 years. EA Games announced that it will be officially closed on December 5, 2024.
This news has shocked fans worldwide. Since its launch in 2012, millions of players worldwide have been constructing their Springfield and uncovering it while also playing with their favorite characters.
The company published a statement on its Facebook page detailing the timeline of the game's discontinuation. The application would be withdrawn from digital storefronts on October 31st, 2024.
Players would have till January 24th, 2025, to enjoy the game before it goes offline completely. After this date, the Simpsons game will no longer be available.
Developers said that this farewell was an emotional one for them. They thanked the players for sticking with the mobile game through its life cycle. Further noting that they issued 308 updates, added 831 characters to the game, and developed 1,463 questlines till now.
"Together with our partners at The Simpsons™ and The Walt Disney Company, we have delighted in bringing this game to you, the fans," EA stated in their announcement. "It has been a remarkable journey, and we are grateful that we’ve been able to deliver this experience."

Some gamers said that The Simpsons: Tapped Out can still boast an impressive number of enthusiasts, thus its end is an injustice to devoted fans.
