Spotify is testing a new way to organize saved content in its mobile app by introducing a separate section for pinned items. The feature, called ‘Pins’, gives selected playlists, albums and podcasts their own space inside the Your Library tab. The change could make browsing easier for users who have several pinned items and frequently switch between different types of content.
The updated interface has reportedly appeared for a limited number of Android and iOS users. Instead of placing pinned content at the top of the main library feed, Spotify is testing a horizontal carousel that separates these items from the rest of the collection.

In the redesigned layout, the Pins section appears just below the filter options at the top of Your Library. Users can access their pinned content through a horizontally scrolling shelf without having to move through the entire library.
The feature also includes independent layout controls. Users testing the update can choose between List, Grid and Compact views for the Pins section. These settings work separately from the display layout selected for the main library.
Previously, Spotify displayed pinned items within the same list or grid as other saved content. Although pinned playlists and albums appeared at the top, they followed the same layout settings as the rest of the library.

Spotify recently increased the maximum number of items users can pin from four to 20. While the higher limit offers more flexibility, it can also make the library's main feed longer and harder to navigate.
The dedicated carousel appears to address this issue by keeping frequently accessed content visible without allowing pinned items to dominate the screen. The feature is currently part of a limited server-side test, so it may not appear for every Spotify user. Some users have also reported that the redesigned section disappeared after initially becoming available. Spotify has not announced a wider rollout date.
