

Redmi launched the Redmi 17C 5G in India, adding a new 5G smartphone to its lineup with a 120Hz display, MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset and a 6,000mAh battery. The handset also runs HyperOS 3 based on Android 16 and supports 33W fast charging. The Redmi 17C 5G starts at Rs. 20,999 for the 4GB RAM and 128GB storage variant. The higher 6GB RAM and 128GB storage configuration costs Rs. 22,999.
The smartphone will go on sale from October 7 at 12 noon through Amazon India and Xiaomi's online store. It comes in Coffee Brew, Dark Night and Purple Dawn colour options. The Redmi 17C 5G features a 6.9-inch HD+ LCD panel with a 1,600 x 720-pixel resolution. The display supports a 120Hz refresh rate and offers up to 810 nits of peak brightness.
The phone also supports Wet Touch 2.0, allowing users to operate the display with wet fingers. Redmi paired the large panel with TÜV Rheinland certification for low blue-light output.
The smartphone uses MediaTek's Dimensity 6300 chipset, built on a 6nm process. It pairs the processor with LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB UFS 2.2 storage. Users can also expand storage through a microSD card, with support for up to 1TB of additional capacity.
For software, the handset runs HyperOS 3 based on Android 16. Connectivity options include 5G, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC and GPS.
For photography, the device carries a 50MP primary rear camera and an 8MP front camera for selfies and video calls. It also includes a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and an IP64 rating for dust and splash resistance. The Redmi 17C 5G combines a large display, 5G connectivity and a high-capacity battery, while keeping the starting price below Rs. 21,000. Its first sale in India begins on October 7.
