OnePlus has officially launched 15R and 15R Ace Edition in India. The launch has marked the smartphone giant’s 12th anniversary in the country.
15R aims to deliver near-flagship performance at a lower price point. The Ace edition, on the other hand, features an Electric Violet finish with a fiberglass back and an embedded ‘Ace’ branding. However, the latter mirrors 15R available in Charcoal Black and Mint Breeze.
OnePlus 15R has a design language closer to that of the OnePlus 15 flagship. It changes the circular camera housing on the 13R to a square holder in the left corner. The dual-camera setup includes a vertical pill-shaped camera cutout. The device also features a glass back for a refined look.
15R is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset, built using a 3nm process. It offers enhanced speeds, graphics processing, and increased efficiency. Additionally, 15R is receiving specialized chips from the flagship series, including G2 Wi-Fi chip and the touch response chip.
The phone boasts a 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED screen with a 165Hz refresh rate and up to 1,800 nits of peak brightness. For optics, 15R integrates a 50MP Sony IMX906 setup and an 8MP ultra-wide lens.
The 32MP front camera can now focus in all four dimensions and record 4K videos at 120 fps. It also has a massive 7,400mAh battery with support for 80W charging.
