Apple released an updated build of tvOS 27.2 ahead of the launch of its fourth-generation Apple TV 4K. The revised software carries build number 24K154 and applies only to the upcoming streaming device. The tech giant issued the update on Monday, days before the new Apple TV 4K reaches customers on November 13.
Apple did not publish separate release notes for the revised build, leaving the exact changes unclear. Existing Apple TV models continue to run tvOS 27.2 build 24K122. The new 24K154 build keeps the same version number but targets only the fourth-generation Apple TV 4K.
According to reports, the revised build unlocks Siri AI on the new Apple TV 4K. The feature was previously available only in internal software builds. This suggests Apple is fine-tuning the software for the new hardware rather than rolling out a broader public update. The company often ships device-specific builds before a product launch to address performance, compatibility, and setup issues.
Apple said Siri AI is available in beta with tvOS 27.2. The feature requires an Apple Intelligence-enabled iPhone or iPad in the home, running the latest software, with Siri AI enabled in a supported language. The broader tvOS 27.2 update adds several user-facing features. It introduces FaceTime links, expands screen saver personalization, and adds a Shuffle control for screen savers.
The update also lets users locate a misplaced Siri Remote through Find My. Apple also added expanded caption options, along with bug fixes and security improvements. The new Apple TV 4K is scheduled to launch on November 13. The revised software indicates Apple is completing final preparations for the device’s rollout.
