Meta introduced Meta One, a new subscription service that brings paid upgrades across Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp and Meta AI. According to the company, the service is designed for users who want additional AI access, more customization, and professional tools, while the core versions of its apps will remain free.
The rollout includes more than 50 features, with Meta planning to extend the subscription to products such as Edits and its AI-powered smart glasses. Meta says its various subscription offerings have already generated 15 million subscriptions and trials globally.
For individual users, Meta One's Core and Premium plans bundle existing Instagram Plus, Facebook Plus and WhatsApp Plus features with increased access to Meta's more demanding AI tools.
Subscribers can generate and edit more images, create videos using Meta's Muse models, and use AI-powered features such as Restyle on Instagram. Meta says everyday access to Meta AI will remain free, while the paid plans are aimed at people who want higher usage limits and more creative capabilities.
Globally, Meta One Core starts at USD 7.99 per month, while Premium costs USD 19.99 per month. Pricing and availability can vary by region.
Meta One also combines individual app subscriptions with additional features. Instagram Plus includes tools such as custom fonts for Stories and DMs, Story-related notifications and message previews.
Facebook Plus adds customization options, additional Reels insights, and expanded reaction features. WhatsApp Plus is adding features including chat and media backup storage, as well as scheduled Focus Schedules that can mute or hide selected conversations at set times.
The company has also begun offering single-app subscriptions, giving users the option to pay only for the platform-specific features they want rather than subscribing to a bundle.
Meta One is not limited to individual users. Creator and business plans provide professional features designed to help users build audiences and manage commercial activity. These plans can include enhanced profiles, prominent follow buttons on Reels, automatic follow invitations and greater access to Meta Business Agent for customer interactions. Higher tiers add capabilities such as analytics, audience insights, team access and additional business tools.
According to Meta, the service will continue expanding, with more AI capabilities and professional features expected over time.

Despite the new subscription structure, Meta is not putting Instagram, Facebook or WhatsApp behind a paywall. Users can continue using the core services without paying. Meta One is instead positioned as an optional upgrade for people who want additional AI usage, customization, or professional capabilities.
The company is effectively adding another revenue stream around features that go beyond the standard experience, while keeping its huge existing user base on free versions of the apps.
